Craig Wright’s Defamation Case Against Hodlnaut Reportedly Dismissed By UK’s High Court

Craig Wright, who claims to be the creator of Bitcoin, Satoshi Nakamoto, has reportedly seen his defamation case against Hodlnaut dismissed by UK’s High Court. The reason for the court’s decision is that it doesn’t have the jurisdiction to rule.

Craig Wright’s Case Against Hodlnaut Dismissed

Craig Wright is undoubtedly one of the most well-known and discussed names within the cryptocurrency community. He has proclaimed himself to be the creator of Bitcoin, Satoshi Nakamoto. However, so far, he has failed to produce the evidence necessary for the community to believe it.

Hence, towards the beginning of 2019, a lot of prominent members of the community stood up, even boycotting conferences that had Wright invited.

Nevertheless, the self-proclaimed Satoshi Nakamoto threatened that he would sue anyone who claims he’s not, in fact, Satoshi, for defamation.

One of the first people to stand up against Wright was the popular Bitcoin proponent, Twitter user Hodlnaut. In 2019, Wright reportedly sued him – an act that saw the entire cryptocurrency community come together against him.

Back then, a lot of people on Twitter changed their handles with the avatar of Hodlnaut, sharing the slogan “We are all Hodlnaut.”

Today, however, Hodlnaut tweeted that the case against him, filed with the UK’s High Court, has been dismissed for lack of jurisdiction.

What’s To Come?

As Hodlnaut details, the case is not yet over. The trial will supposedly continue in Norway, where the courts would have the jurisdiction to rule on it.

It’s safe to say that Wright is involved in a lot of legal battles at the current moment. He earlier sued the well-known cryptocurrency podcaster, Peter McCormack, for libel for 100,000GBP.

Another important case to follow is the landmark Kleiman V. Wright case, where the Bitcoin SV proponent has been ordered to access 1.1 million bitcoins until February 10th. He claims that the cryptocurrency is stored at the so-called Tulip Trusts. Recently, reports started circling that Wright has received the keys to those trusts.

It remains exciting to see how these cases will unfold, ultimately. A lot of people from the cryptocurrency community are also worried that Wright could have access to such a vast amount of Bitcoin and what this could do to the market.
