MetaMask’s New Year Takes a Joyous Turn As Google Revokes Ban

The last few weeks of 2019 were toxic for the Ethereum Dapp browser, MetaMask. In the wake of Crypto youtube video purge, Google had delisted the browser extension from its Playstore citing its policy of banning mining apps.

Only Google had delisted the app while this add-on was still available on Opera, Firefox, Chrome, and the Brave browser.

However, the Metamask team had appealed to Google claiming that they don’t provide mining activities on this browser extension. The global search engine rejected the appeal instantly.

“It’s unclear whether the reviewer doesn’t understand the policy, or whether they are enforcing an unwritten policy,” team states.

Google further claimed that MetaMask damaged its monetary administration’s strategies, which likewise explicitly disallows crypto mining on phones.

Metamask team were in search of alternatives in case the ban continued.

However, it seems that the dawn of 2020 has brought a ray of hope for this DApp browser extension. Google has revoked the ban after careful consideration” and listed Metamask in its playstore again on Jan 1, 2020.

As of now, Google seems to have warmed up to the add-on.
